Overview
As of now, so many Foreign automakers are packing up to launch their vehicles in India as KIA did already on August back this year. Hence, is the Citroën, a French automaker is all set to enter India with an SUV, C5 Aircross. The company has said, the production begins early in 2021 with a mid-range price of 20 lakhs.
For India, the company offers a pure 4-cylinder diesel and petrol engines as well. As far as we know, the company has two different engines- 1.5 litres 131 hp, 2.0 litres 180 hp engines but the smaller engine could likely launch in India keeping the price in India. The engine is said to have an 8-speed Torque Converter Automatic.

The trial production of the car is likely to take place in the PSA-CK Birla Joint manufacturing in Hosur. The engines are going to be imported that can likely increase the price of the car in India because of the customs duties. As of now, we can just expect the same features with the car but there is no chance that the car could get better features than the international spec. One of the Uniqueness of this car is that it would be the only European SUV in the segment.

DELAYED LAUNCH
The French company was all set to launch their vehicle in the mid-2020 but the whole world is hard hit by the COVID-19. Due to the pandemic, the launch of the car is delayed a lot, almost a year. As of now, the company is again all set to launch the C5 Aircross in early 2021 (February). The country's first showroom will be in the Ahmedabad and at the beginning of 2021, the company will open at least 15 Citroën outlets in India.
