2021 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has been revealed!

Overview

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan is one of the most impeccable luxurious saloon currently in the market but the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class has got little more. The Maybach has made a car, suitable for the super riches who expect a high-end luxury car. It is a surprise that it is a Hybrid car and the first of its kind from Maybach. Visually, you cannot spot many differences on the outside but the inside is the spot where Maybach did their bespoke work. Read on to know more.

The Maybach S-Class comes in two variants, S580 and S650 with two different engine options of 496 hp 4.0-litre Twin-turbo V8 petrol and 602 hp 6.0-litre Twin-turbo V12 petrol engines, respectively and both the cars come with a 9-Speed automatic transmission. In addition to these engines, a 20 hp Hybrid system is standard which provides only a small amount of boost so the car cannot be driven just with the electric power when the fuel is low.

Buying the new Maybach S-Class is like buying a road-going yacht because it is that luxurious and spacious inside. This car is 11-inches longer than the normal Mercedes S-Class and 7.8-inches longer than even the longer version of the Mercedes S-Class. There are two executive-style seats in the rear with separate individual Neck rests, Fold-out Leg rests, Backrests which are electrically adjustable independently according to the passenger's needs. These seats also have separate Calf massager in the fold-out leg rests to comfortably relax extending the legs very comfortably like that of a sleeping position, this helps during long drives. The passengers also get separate screens in front of them for entertainment. The control unit for all the above said features is a Samsung tablet which is placed between the two seats and this is detachable and can be installed with android apps too.

The car will obviously be heavy with such kind of electrical mechanisms and hence the doors but they are completely automatic. The doors can be closed by pressing a button at the front that is operated by the driver. Entering into the car is made easy with the doors but after entering you don't need to extend your hands across to reach the Seat belt extenders as they automatically reach the passenger's hands at the right time. This is achieved by the Laser scanners present at the roof which automatically detects when the passengers enter. The luxury doesn't stop there, you even get a Champagne cooler between the seats that can cool below 10°C.

Noise cancellation in a car?

Yes, this Maybach has Active noise cancellation like that of a Headphone. It eliminates the tyre and wind noise by playing low-frequency sound through the woofers inside which keeps the passengers soothed. Also, the car comes with sound deadening.

Maybach mode

This is one of the craziest and robust modes you put the car into. This makes the suspension system the softest and the gear changes much smoother by reducing the rev-limit. When on this mode the car moves from the second gear rather from the first gear.

The Screens

The car has a 12-inch Driver display which is just behind the steering wheels that gives necessary information like speed, gear, Fuel, Mileage, Tyre pressure, etc... to the driver. There is a 13-inch infotainment screen at the centre of the dashboard to display various camera views and there are two more 12-inch displays just behind the front seats facing the passengers. These screens are OLED and have a wide variety of gesture control features with the help of the laser scanners at the roofline.

The Intelligence

This car has loads of cameras and sensors all over the car, meaning parking the car is no more a headache because this Maybach can park itself at the right spot without anyone inside the car and this is from the normal S-Class itself. It can also drive itself in traffics.

Release and Price

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is expected to hit the markets in early 2021 and the exact pricing is not yet officially released but it is obvious that the price will be well over £200,000.
