Nissan Z Proto revealed with a Twin-turbo V6 and a Six-Speed Manual

Updated: Oct 13, 2020

Overview

The reveal of Nissan Z Proto (prototype) has literally revived the Nissan fans. The Z Cars (pure sports cars) are one of the most iconic lineups from the company that was allegedly said dead (No future for Z cars) and this literally just broke the fans. The last car in the Z lineup is the Nissan 370Z that was launched back in 2009, one of the most loved cars because it was a Perfect tuner car and a Great drift car in modern times and everyone was expecting a successor of the 370Z and hence the new Nissan Z Proto which apparently renders the Nissan 400Z. The company itself said that the new prototype is designed in a strong relationship and represent the Retro style.

Engine

The Japanese company made sure the car retains its most famous Stick shift feature, ie... Six-Speed Gearbox even in this modern era where we could clearly see the Manual Gearboxes disappearing. The new prototype features a Twin-Turbo V6 of unknown capacity with unknown Power output but we know and can expect more power than the previous generation Z car, the Nissan 370Z had 325 hp. As a successor, any car should be more powerful than its predecessor and not like the Ferrari F50 that was less powerful than its predecessor, Ferrari F40. When this prototype enters production, it can easily rival the cars such as Toyota Supra, Chevrolet Camaro SS, Ford Mustang GT, BMW M2, etc...

Interior

Being a car with Retro styling, the interior shows no resemblance with the old versions. This car features a clean and modern interior design with a nice Centre Console and Digital Gauges. As the previous cars, it does have the same two-seat interior, ie... Coupe style. The seats are sportier and they are covered with a mix of leather and Alcantara. The steering wheel, Gear shifter boot, door panels, etc... are also covered with leather. Unlike its competitors, this car features a considerable amount of Carbon-Fibre trims inside and outside of the car.

Exterior

The exterior design of the car is a complete blend of previous-generation cars. The frontside has an unpleasant rectangular grille which is kind of annoying for some people. The front side of the car is inspired by the first Nissan 240Z and the backside of the car is inspired by the '90s Nissan 300Z. The backside of the car has a long black strip that hides the Taillights underneath it. Like every modern car, it has got Carbo-Fibre trims such as Front splitter, Side skirts, Rear diffuser lip, etc... that enhance the look and save weight to make the car light in weight. This prototype also retains the FAIRLADY Z badge on the trunk. And this car has got a Dual exhaust setup and a 19' inch alloys.

Dimensions

Dimensions wise this prototype is larger than the Nissan 370Z.

Length 172.5 inches

Height 51.6 inches

Width 72.8 inches

Hence, this prototype is 5.0 inches longer, 0.6 inches wider, 0.2 inches taller than the 370Z. These differences may not be considerably higher but noteworthy.

We don't when or with what name will this prototype enter production but it is strongly expected to enter production next year, 2021. And also there is no info about the Engine capacity and its power output. Shockingly, the Nissan Z Proto's production version will not be available in European markets because of some strict emission regulations.
